Afternoon Tea

Media Molecule just introduced a potential series they call “Afternoon Tea with the Molecules”. Interesting reading while we wait for the next podcast,I suppose. Lots of interesting bits from Technical Director Dave Smith (of “plagachef”fame). Having been tangentially involved with QA for a lot of my career,I especially like Dave’s take:

“QA [...]

Spotlight Search Engine

Around for a while, but still worth mentioning,is the LBPCentral Spotlight Search Engine. A great resource for LBP newbies, especially those who are more into Play than Create. Also a good place to point games journalists who don’t see any value in user-generated content.

Getting excited about el mes que viene

My theory is this:The guys who compose the “coming next month”pages in most magazines have no idea what NDAs or embargoes may be in place.

3D PSA:Qore Confusion

It seems that a segment on the latest issue of Qore implies that 3D adaptations of everyone’s favourite PS3 games are just around the corner. Just in case anyone missed the clarification from Sony:

Unfortunately, our feature did not make it clear that the 2D game footage was included for demonstration purposes only. We apologize [...]

Mildly Disturbing

(Yes,I do read the entire manual after buying a new game.)

An old piece of concept art that always disturbed me,now immortalized in the LittleBigPlanet PSP manual:

Accessorizing

Well,my local Best Buy didn’t have LittleBigPlanet PSP on the shelves early, but they did have a couple of things that I needed (click for full images):

Tuesday’s Child is Full of Grace (and video games)

Well, the handheld release we’ve all been waiting for is nearly upon us.  And also,LittleBigPlanet PSP is coming out!  The joy of playing with Sackboy and creating levels on those long train rides is finally within our grasp.

Of course,no LBP release is complete without a little controversy.  The lack of multiplayer [...]

Missed Our Train

Not really;we weren’t even that close.  We were sad to have to skip Eurogamer Expo in favor of more affordable local affairs, and even sadder when we were told that it was to be the site of the first LittleBigPlanet Mini Fan Meet.  True, the GameX event in Philadelphia was a lot of [...]

Little Bits for October 1,2009

Media Molecule’s desire to work with Studio Ghibli is old news by now,but it gives me an excuse to use one of my few pictures from our visit to the Ghibli Museum. Based on some comments I’ve seen,I think I should point out that the NowGamer competition for the custom Mm PS3 [...]

Little Bits for Sept 16 2009

Only a few bits today,as GDC Austin is keeping us busy:

Frugal Gaming Forum is holding a contest, with a Sackboy included in the grand prize. A quick look at Amazon US sees LittleBigPlanet still at #81 after 369 days in the top 100.  The only other (non-Nintendo) console games I see with [...]
