Despite this reveal during Sony’s Leipzig GC Press Conference: it seems there’s still some confusion in the press. I’ve seen October 19th as the PAL release date in a few places,and GameSpot even tells Australians that “LittleBigPlanet will be getting its local release on October 28,a week and a half after the [...] I promised myself that I wouldn’t do any more of these mega-posts. But with a ridiculous backlog,and the Leipzig Games Convention looming,it’s clear that I was lying. [...] Looks like Wal-Mart has an exclusive trailer to encourage pre-orders there as well. With even more camera angle goodness. And ghosts,and a skateboard passenger,and rolling the orange and football across a bridge,and… Unfortunately,they do have the game in their database as “Little Big Planet”,and the URL for the trailer implies [...] When GameDaily included LittleBigPlanet in their list of “Games That Will Probably Suck”,the community responded quite strongly. Ripten even went as far as to post a rebuttal. GameDaily’s comments come off as extraordinarily uninformed,apparently based upon only watching the Sony E3 Press Conference. I’m frankly a little surprised,given GameDaily’s previously positive coverage. [...] Treating Comic-Con as part of E3 Season,of course. In case you missed them,check out Vol 1,Vol 2,Vol 3,and Vol 4. Quite a few sites picked up the news (TheSixthAxis,GamesIndustry.biz,SCRAWL,Sarcastic Gamer,Platform Nation,Edge Online,TheGameReviews,TalkPlaystation,LivingPS3,videogaming247,Evil Avatar,GameKult,PS3 Fanboy,among others). Some sites were positive about it (most notably Sarcastic Gamer’s take,which is worth [...] [Update:Actually,this IGN writer seems to know the release date. Maybe they just need better internal communication.] IGN’s Insider review of Sony’s E3 press conference is hard to fathom. They seem to have entirely missed the idea that LittleBigPlanet’s release date has been announced: [...] let them skirt the issue of when LittleBigPlanet will [...] First of all,we love Kotaku. Always a great source for news,and one of the family of sites that inspired LiBiPl.net.
